EVERYTHING you have been told about the round pool is a lie (long, please read ALL of it before replying)
Okay. I have been sitting on this for a long time and I have finally decided to post it here, because the mods deleted my last three sites and I figure a forum full of people who actually go outside and look at things is the safest place left. Please read the whole thing before you reply "take your meds", because I have heard that one before and it is not an argument.
First, some background for the newer people. A few summers ago there was a company called Aquarius Getaways. You might remember the ads, they were everywhere, the cabin had a stack of brochures by the fireplace, the mall had a stand, and there was even a guy handing them out by the entrance to the water cave in a little sailor hat. They sold trips to a place called Aquarius, which according to the brochure was "a whole realm beneath the waves". People booked. A LOT of people booked. And then one week every poster was gone, every brochure was gone, the stand at the mall was just an empty table with a sticky ring on it, and nobody who went on one of those trips has come back. I have checked. I have knocked on doors. I have been chased off two porches.
Now here is where it gets interesting, and where I need you to stay with me. Have you ever noticed that the pigeons in the mushroom islands always face the same way? I have sat out there with a notebook on four separate mornings and every single time they were facing the round pool. Every one of them. Pigeons do not agree on anything, I have watched pigeons fight over nothing for an hour, but they agree on that. I also want to point out that Bloxy Cola tastes noticeably saltier than it did two years ago, and if you look at a map, their bottling plant is closer to the pool than to anything else in the realm, which nobody has ever been able to explain to me.
Then there is the moon. I am not going to go too far into the moon in this post because it deserves its own thread, but I will just say that the moon has never once been wet, and for something that hangs over a realm that is mostly water, that should bother you more than it does.
Anyway. Back to the pool. As some of you know from Sam's thread (which got locked, which is ALSO suspicious), there is mist coming off the round pool at night and it is not cold, and the water gets deeper. I went with a measuring rope. The pool is deeper every Tuesday. I cannot tell you why Tuesday. And then one morning there was an island in the middle of it, a big stone one, and on top of it there are four standing stones that turn when you push them, with lines cut into their sides, and on top of every stone there are little carved stars. Different numbers on each one. I have tried matching those stars to the constellations, to the moons, to the floors of the tall buildings in the city, and to the number of letters in the Water King's name (both spellings), and none of it fits.
But last week I found something in my drawer. It is one of the old brochures, I must have picked it up at the cabin and forgotten about it, and it has a coffee stain on it and some of it is hard to read. And on the back there is a little section about a tour they used to run before the trip, round the four waters, and at the end of the tour you gave every stop a rating. Out of four. With little stars. I am not saying anything else about that, because I think THEY read this forum, and I am not even fully sure what it means yet, but I will say that I don't think the stars on those stones were put there to be pretty, and I don't think a stone wants to be told how good something was. I think a stone wants to know where you have BEEN. Think about that one for a while.
The Yeti is also involved somehow but I have not worked out how yet.
If you go out to the island, please go in pairs, do not stare at the mist for too long, and if you hear anything humming under the water, leave. And if anybody here booked a trip with Aquarius Getaways back then, or knows someone who did, please message me. I just want to know if they are okay.
